Starlink Cargo Services Shipping Terms & Conditions

General Shipping Terms & Conditions

  • All shipments must include your unique ID code and the shipping address/destination. If the shipping codes are missing, a USD 3 handling fee may be incurred. Additionally, if there are unclaimed items, they will be disposed of after 30 days.
  • A completed item description with values must be provided when you place an order. Shipping documents (AWB & customs invoices) are prepared using this information. Any misdeclaration of parcel details may result in penalties from the respective Customs Authorities.
  • Transit time is guaranteed from arrival at our depot, but may vary due to customs inspections or flight delays.
  • All queries must be directed to the Starlink Cargo Services Inc. team. Please do not contact depot agents directly.
  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. is not responsible for packages that are not delivered to the depot. We do not collect from Amazon lockers, courier depots, UPS offices, post offices, or similar locations.
  • International shipments are handled via UPS. Domestic deliveries within origin countries are not our responsibility. Our liability starts once the package reaches a Starlink Cargo Services Inc. center.
  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. does not cover fees for delivering goods to our depots and does not accept COD orders.
  • Prohibited items (e.g., dangerous goods, restricted commodities) are not accepted and will be discarded without notice.
  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. reserves the right to open and inspect any package without liability.
  • All items received at an eParcel center will be shipped exclusively via Starlink Cargo Services Inc. to the respective destination, as specified in the provided address for the shipment. Shipments withheld or handed over to another courier without a valid reason will incur a specific fee (based on the destination).

Consolidation Terms & Conditions

  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. consolidates shipments but does not remove items from supplier packaging. However, the special requests are handled on a case-by-case basis, and we are not responsible for poor supplier packaging.
  • Provide a detailed list of items ordered and inform the Starlink Cargo Services Inc. team once your final order arrives.
  • Consolidation uses the original supplier boxes/cartons. We do not add new boxes unless approved for security reasons.
  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. does not verify the authenticity, brand, or condition of items. We only report visible external damage.
  • If we cause damage, we will notify you immediately.
  • Re-weighing or re-measuring is not possible after consolidation has occurred. The final invoice is issued upon arrival at the specific destination.
  • Packages will be held at the depot for a maximum of 7 days. After that, storage is charged at USD 10/day per piece.
  • Once consolidated, shipments cannot be reopened or repacked. A USD 25 fee applies if repacking is requested.
  • Consolidation is only for your own shipments. We cannot combine items from your order with those of other customers.
  • We do not provide photos of received items. You’ll be notified when an entry is logged under your code, and you must verify the details against your order.

Customs & Clearance Terms & Conditions

  • Duty and tax estimates are based on the details you provide. Customs in Sri Lanka, Canada, India, Bangladesh, or the United Kingdom accordingly decide the final amounts. Additional paperwork or charges may be required if shipments are detained.
  • Starlink Cargo Services Inc. is not responsible for items seized or forfeited by Customs (local or origin). Therefore, misdeclarations may result in penalties up to LKR 20,000.
  • Prohibited, restricted, or temporarily suspended goods remain your responsibility. If Customs blocks them, we cannot help you with it.
  • Some commodities require prior approvals (e.g., NMRA for medicine). Therefore, customers must obtain these prior approvals; however, Starlink Cargo Services Inc. can assist with certain approvals for an additional charge.
  • All shipments are cleared automatically upon arrival at the specific destination (Sri Lanka, Canada, India, Bangladesh, or the United Kingdom). If you wish to handle clearance yourself, please notify us before shipping. Once clearance begins, we cannot stop it or provide paperwork.
  • Clearance is only available at specific destinations; shipments will not be relocated for processing elsewhere.

Damage & Claims Terms & Conditions

  • The UPS claim process applies to all damages or losses. Complete coverage is only available for insured shipments.
  • Claim investigations may take 1–7 weeks.
  • Items like cosmetics or skincare may leak/damaged due to air pressure or loose packing. Therefore, no claims apply if the outer box is intact.
  • You can report any damage or missing items within 24 hours of delivery. Also, keep the original packaging for inspection.

Billing & Payments Terms & Conditions

  • Charges are based on actual or dimensional weight, whichever is higher.
  • Invoices are all-inclusive; separate customs or clearance documents are not issued.
  • Weight disputes must be raised immediately with the packaging intact.
  • Payment is required on or before delivery via cash, online portal, or bank transfer.

Terms & Conditions of Carriage

Definitions

“Carrier” means Starlink Cargo Inc, its employees, agents, and subcontractors.
“Shipper” means the sender, consignor, or customer who contracts the Carrier.
“Consignee” means the person or company to whom the shipment is addressed.
“Shipment” means one or more packages, pallets, or pieces tendered by the Shipper and accepted by the Carrier under a single waybill.

Scope of Service

The Carrier undertakes to transport shipments from Canada to the designated overseas destination, either directly or through third-party carriers, in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

Prohibited & Restricted Goods

The Carrier does not accept hazardous goods, firearms, perishables requiring temperature control, live animals, currency, precious stones, or goods prohibited by law.

Shipper’s Responsibilities

The Shipper must ensure proper packaging, labelling, accurate declarations, and compliance with customs / export & imports laws. The Shipper indemnifies the Carrier against penalties from false declarations or illegal shipments including cannabis , any type of cigarettes & alcohol.

Delivery & Transit Times

Transit times are estimates only and not guaranteed unless specified in writing. The Carrier is not liable for delays due to customs, weather, or events outside its control.

Rates & Charges

Charges are based on the greater of actual or volumetric weight. Additional charges may apply for customs, storage or special handling. All charges are payable by the Shipper unless agreed otherwise.

Customs Clearance

The Carrier may act as the Shipper’s agent for customs clearance. Duties, taxes, and import fees at destination are the Consignee’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise.

Liability & Limits

The Carrier’s liability for loss is limited to CAD $25.00 per box or CAD $50 per shipment, whichever is greater, unless additional insurance is purchased. No liability for indirect losses. Claims must be made within 7 days.

Insurance

Extra insurance coverage is available upon request and payment of premiums.

Right of Inspection

The Carrier reserves the right to inspect shipments for security, customs, or regulatory purposes.

Subcontracting

The Carrier may subcontract services, with these Terms still applying.

Force Majeure

The Carrier is not liable for delays/failures due to events beyond its control (natural disasters, strikes, war, embargoes, etc.).

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada. Disputes shall be resolved in Ontario courts.
